At East River Pilates, we are proud to offer our famously feel-good Prenatal & Postnatal Pilates program to our ever-growing community.
Created with all stages of pregnancy and postpartum recovery in mind, our Prenatal & Postnatal Pilates classes are safe, educational, and specifically designed to empower you as you navigate pregnancy, prepare for labor, and recover postnatally. Join us for a class and enjoy the benefits of increased knowledge, confidence, strength, and support from our community.
We currently offer a variety of Pre & Postnatal workouts in person and via ERP Online, our On-Demand & Live Virtual workout platform. Our ever growing library offers mat, cardio, stretch, yoga & meditation for our Pre & Postnatal Community!
Safety
To guide you safely through pregnancy and beyond,
we have the following policies in place.
Prenatal Safety Policies
In your first trimester (weeks 1-12), we strongly encourage you to participate in ONLY Prenatal & Postnatal classes. All regular group classes are not appropriate for pregnant people.
From your second trimester onwards (from week 13), you are permitted to join only Prenatal & Postnatal classes.
Postnatal Safety Policies
Prior to commencing Postnatal Pilates, you must have received verbal permission from your obstetrician, GP, or midwife. We recommend scheduling a private session prior to commencing group classes. You are permitted to join only Prenatal & Postnatal classes until you have received verbal permission from one of our instructors to move forward with regular group classes.

Our Prenatal & Postnatal Classes
Our combined Prenatal & Postnatal Pilates classes are suitable for all stages of pregnancy and birth recovery. Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment to prepare your body to meet the physical demands of carrying your baby, and to condition the muscles that will assist your labor, delivery, and recovery.
Saturated with technical information, classes focus particular attention on postural alignment, pelvic floor conditioning, and prevention and treatment of diastasis. Whether you’re newly pregnant or recovering from a vaginal or Caesarean birth, these classes will leave you energized, educated, and empowered with the support of our passionate instructors and community.
