Studio Caretaker

East River Pilates | New York City

Commitment: Part-time (18 hrs/week)

Schedule: Afternoon and Evenings: Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays

Location: Across East River Pilates’ five NYC studios in North Brooklyn

Compensation: $26.55/hour

Role Overview

The Studio Caretaker ensures every East River Pilates studio is clean, safe, and beautifully maintained. This role is essential to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where clients and staff can fully experience ERP’s mission: sharing the life-changing benefits of Pilates with every body.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintain boutique-level cleanliness and presentation across all studio spaces

  2. Complete daily, weekly, and quarterly cleaning checklists

  3. Ensure studios are hazard-free and report maintenance issues promptly

  4. Keep supplies, bathrooms, and public areas fully stocked and organized

  5. Support sustainability efforts through eco-conscious cleaning and waste reduction

  6. Communicate clearly with Studio Managers and Assistant Studio Managers

  7. Collaborate with teachers and operations teams to support smooth daily studio flow

Qualifications

  1. 1–2 years of experience in cleaning, facilities, hospitality, or wellness environments preferred

  2. Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation

  3. Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated

  4. Able to work independently and as part of a team

  5. Professional, trustworthy, and aligned with ERP values

Pilates Teacher Associates

Roles Available:
Part-Time and Full-Time

Requirements:
Must be certified to teach both Mat and Reformer Pilates.
Pre/Postnatal certified preferred.
If not Pre/Postnatal certified, a willingness to obtain within first 3 months of employment.

Compensation
Certified Pilates Teacher: Minimum starting base rate of $53-$55 depending on Pre/Postnatal certification with earning potential of up to $80+ per class
Senior Pilates Teacher: Minimum starting base rate of $65 with earning potential of $90 per class

Volunteering Days | DOING GOOD Initiative

In an effort to encourage an ongoing commitment to DOING GOOD, ERP offers 2 Volunteering Days per year which allow paid time off for employees to volunteer their time at charities or organizations.

Ongoing Education Program: Professional Development & Inclusivity Training

We value the growth and development of our people. Each year we offer the opportunity for employees to be reimbursed for professional development related to their role and inclusivity training. The current budget is:

  • Professional Development Budget: $300 for part & full-time teacher roles / $500-$1000 for certain management roles

  • Inclusivity Training Budget: $250 per person

Time Off

In order to maintain an inclusive and flexible work environment, employees are entitled to request time off for any public, religious, national, cultural, secular, or alternative holiday.

  • ERP offers full-time salaried employees a total of 22 PTO days/176 PTO hours per year. This total takes into consideration 14 regular PTO days, plus 8 Floating Holiday PTO days to account for the number of Public Holidays observed by ERP annually, which may be used at any time at the employee’s discretion.

  • All salaried employees & managers are entitled to take up to a maximum total of six (6) weeks of time off per calendar year.
