He firmly believes that we achieve our goals by taking the work seriously, but not ourselves, and that results come from a good balance of focus and fun.

**Mission:** Nicole is a highly motivated, energetic, friendly and knowledgeable Pilates Instructor with an extensive background in Dance, Pilates and Yoga. She is experienced in designing exercise programs based on clients’ needs, goals, abilities and anatomy. Nicole has a strong understanding of the functions and vital processes of the human body and is always encouraging clients to reach their maximum performance utilizing solid communication and demonstration.
**Fun Fact:** Nicole was born in England and grew up in both Switzerland and Hong Kong. She was first introduced to Pilates by her mother who is now celebrating her studio's 13th year anniversary. **Mission:** One of my favorite things about Pilates is that it's for everybody! It can enhance anyone and everyone's lives. With that in mind, I aim to help new practitioners to fall in love with Pilates, and to bring something new and challenging to the longtime Pilates enthusiast. When creating classes, I focus on flow, anatomy, clarity of cueing and that feel good muscle burn. I move the body in all directions, and push you to challenge your stamina and finally, give you that lovely stretch at the end of your hard work! With privates, my goal is to help the client with their individual needs and goals all while keeping it interesting and engaging.

She also enjoys working to find a pain free path of movement for individuals as well as pushing them beyond their limits to access new places inside of themselves.

**Mission:** I want to create a space for people to commit to nourishing their bodies through movement. We do so much and sometimes our bodies well being gets neglected. I get it but I want to help change the narrative. My mission is to prioritize movement as one of the ways to support living life optimally.

Education: 500hr comprehensive Pilates certification through Balanced Pilates NYC - includes contemporary, classical, mat, and all equipment. Graduated summa cum laude with BFA in dance from Ohio University with strong focus on kinesiology and anatomy.

Mission: As a past professional dancer, movement has been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I strongly believe in its ability to heal, empower, and invigorate the body and mind. As an educator, I love investigating the many different ways to communicate my knowledge to help each individual. I enjoy exploring the contemplative and athletic components of Pilates with a strong emphasis on functional fitness. I often draw inspiration from my movement background and strive to deliver a full-bodied elastic feel to all my classes. My ongoing goal as an instructor is to create an open and supportive atmosphere to help people cultivate a deeper connection to their body through movement and leave class feeling empowered!

Fun Fact: I’m an avid line dancer and I’ve lived in the same apartment in NYC for over 11 years!

**Mission:** Josephine loves movement and helping people find themselves in their bodies through their physical expression. She focuses on anatomically sound movement and flow, proper breathing and fluidity. In her classes she aims to motivate everybody, from beginners to advanced, to challenge their limits and grow in a fun and safe environment.
**Fun Fact:** I am an actress and filmmaker and co-founder of L Train Down, a production collective. I am also a foodie nerd; I am constantly dreaming of/ cooking up/ eating something delicious!

**Specialities:** All Levels. Introducing new clients to the foundations of movement in Pilates. Beginning each class with a grounding moment centering on breath work and bodily awareness, encouraging clients to move in the way that is truest to their bodies. Layering on creative progressions and flows throughout classes, always reminding clients they have the agency to push themselves and experiment with the progressions offered or peel it back and choose their own challenge.

**Mission:** To get people out of their heads and into their bodies. Fostering a strong mind/body connection and creating community through challenging and feel-good movement. When clients leave my class, my goal is for them to feel accomplished and ready to receive whatever the rest of their day may bring them.
**Fun Fact:** Outside of the Pilates studio, I spend my time working in film and photography. For my MA thesis project, I directed a short documentary on the Caribbean Social Club and Toñita, a matriarch of the Puerto Rican community in Los Sures. Music videos are my favorite form of storytelling; any time I listen to a song I’m obsessed with, I create an entire realm in my head to go with it, and it’s the most amazing feeling ever to bring that world to life with a team that trusts you. I’m originally from Puerto Rico and if I’m not in NYC, I’m back home filming shows and directing music videos for artists from the independent music scene. Please ask me for music recs :)
