Physical Therapists

 
  • Dr. Jennifer Purwin is a pelvic floor physical therapist with FemFirstHealth, a women’s health and pelvic floor health physical therapy practice based in NYC, with clinics in UWS and Midtown and offer home health appointments in Williamsburg, Greenpoint, FiDi, Tribeca, and LIC. Jennifer has completed her extensive training in pelvic floor physical therapy with the American Physical Therapy Association. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and yoga instructor. Jennifer received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from NYU and her BA from Wellesley College in Massachusetts.

  • Rachel provides individualized treatment plans to optimize movement and help empower each patient to reach their goals. She graduated cum laude from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University, where she graduated with honors and was the recipient of the Marcia Ebert Award for Clinical Excellence. While at Columbia she specialized in orthopedics and took electives in women’s health, integrative therapies, and sports rehabilitation.

  • Charlotte holds a Bachelors degree with Honors in Physiotherapy, a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy and comprehensive Pilates certification. Charlotte has worked with elite athletes including Australian Rules Football and Rugby Union players, to long distance runners and athletes competing at the Commonwealth Games. She has extensive experience diagnosing and treating sports and musculoskeletal injuries, rehabilitating athletes and training clients during and after their pregnancy.

 
  • Shannon graduated from Stony Brook University and began her outpatient Ortho career in Denver, Colorado, diagnosing and treating outdoor athletes such as skiers, mountain climbers, cyclists and marathon runners.

    Recently, Shannon moved to NYC and began working with House of Physical Therapy with locations in Williamsburg and East Village, treating those with a motto of “rest is not an option.”

    She is certified in Blood flow restriction, dry needling and focusing her efforts on clinical management of the fitness athlete. When she is not taking our Pilates classes she enjoys yoga, playing with her dog and exploring the food scene of NYC.

    Dr. Meredith Liguori is a licensed acupuncturist and nationally board-certified herbalist. She graduated Summa Cumme Laude from Pacific College of Health and Science where she obtained her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) and her Master’s in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM).

    Meredith has a passion for treating a wide range of conditions and meets each patient where they are in their healing journey. Whether it’s treating insomnia, anxiety and depression, menstrual irregularities, digestive issues, or chronic pain, Meredith utilizes both the ancient wisdom of Chinese medicine and modern biomedical research to create unique, personalized treatments for each patient.

    Meredith worked for New York City’s top fertility acupuncture clinic, The Yinova Center, for over two years. During her time there, she specialized in fertility, menstrual disorders, and pregnancy and postpartum. She has a unique understanding of how reproductive technologies and Chinese medicine can work in tandem and loves working with people who are trying to conceive.

    Above all else, Meredith believes in fostering a nurturing environment for her patients. She believes that one must feel safe and cared for in order to fully heal. She is passionate about working with people in the comforts of their own homes to help them not only balance the energy of their body, but the energy of their surroundings as well.

  • Alex is a Licensed Psychotherapist who works with adults virtually throughout New York State and is local to the Williamsburg/ Greenpoint area! Her clinical expertise lies in the treatment of anxiety-related disorders and trauma and stress-related disorders. Alex supports her clients as they face and manage their feelings, navigate the demands of adulthood, and confront tricky relationship dynamics.  

    Alex received her Masters in Social Work from Boston College, where she graduated with honors and earned a certificate in Traumatic Stress and Intervention. Her approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment-Based Therapy, and Motivational interviewing (MI), complemented by mindfulness and harm-reduction methods. She is devoted to practicing culturally sensitive and responsive, anti-racist, LGBTQ+ affirming therapy.

  • Murphy is a trained full spectrum doula grounded in Birth Justice and incorporating Native American birthing ancestral knowledge and ceremony into birth. She received her Master of Public Health from Harvard University, where she focused on maternal and child health. Additionally, she was trained as a doula by Ancient Song Doula Services and Zaagi’idiwin Indigenous Full Spectrum Doula Training. All people giving birth should be supported, and Murphy would be honored to be a part of your support system.
