Doing Good Through Movement, Community, and Care

At East River Pilates, doing good is part of how we move through the world. Our mission is to share the life-changing benefits of Pilates with every body, and that mission extends beyond our studios into the wider community we are grateful to be part of.

Each month, East River Pilates commits 1% of revenue to people and organizations doing meaningful work in our community. Just by moving with us, booking a class, joining a workshop, practicing online, or being part of the East River Pilates community, you are helping us support this ongoing commitment.

Our Doing Good Commitment is rooted in the same values that guide our Brooklyn Pilates studios: integrity, belonging, evolution, teamwork, and sustainability. We believe in honest and ethical business practices, creating safe and welcoming spaces, supporting social growth, and making decisions that reflect care for our community.

A Brooklyn Pilates Community That Gives Back

East River Pilates began in 2014 as a small, passionate community and has grown into a thriving movement with five Brooklyn studios in Williamsburg and Greenpoint, plus a global reach through ERP Online. At the heart of it all is connection and celebration — creating a space where people can come together to move, connect, and feel their best.

Our community impact shows up in many ways. Through our monthly Doing Good Commitment, Community Classes, Community Highlights, Safe Space Commitment, workshops, retreats, teacher training, ERP Online, and free Pilates workouts, we aim to make movement and connection more accessible, supportive, and meaningful.

Our Community Classes make feel-good Pilates more accessible through daily sliding-scale classes starting at $20. These classes are open to non-members and pay-per-class movers, creating space for every body to move with care and connection.

Supporting Organizations Doing Meaningful Work

The organizations listed on this page reflect the people and causes East River Pilates supports through our monthly 1% revenue commitment. These groups represent the kind of care, advocacy, service, and community impact that align with our values as a Brooklyn-based Pilates studio community.

We are always open to learning about more people and organizations doing good. To nominate an organization for consideration, email hello@eastriverpilates.com.

Why Doing Good Matters to East River Pilates

For us, Pilates is more than a workout. It is a way to build strength, confidence, awareness, and connection. Our studios were created to be safe, welcoming spaces where people from everywhere can come exactly as they are and feel supported in their bodies.

Doing good is an extension of that belief. When you practice with East River Pilates, you are part of a community that values belonging, sustainable practices, and the common good. Every class, private session, online workout, workshop, and community offering helps sustain a larger ecosystem of care.

Thank you for being part of our community and for helping us stay connected to our mission.
